Itinerary
Day 1
Collection by mini-bus from Dublin City Centre at 9 a.m. and drive to the start point of your walk, through a section of the best parts of the Wicklow Way.
The Wicklow Way was one of the first wayward walks set up and runs for 132 kilometres from Marley Park in Co. Dublin, through Wicklow and into Co. Carlow. The Trail combines the most breath-taking views of Irelands finest mountains, lakes and forest trails it’s lush green countryside.
During the walk (weather permitting), you will stop for lunch. When the walk is finished the minibus will then take you to your accommodation to check in, chill out and explore the grounds.
Later in the evening collection at 6.30 for local pub/restaurant or stay and make full use of your luxury accommodation.
Day 2
Our guide and mini bus will meet you at 10am in the courtyard. Drive to Glenmalure Lodge, where you will begin your walk up Lugnaquillia through Glenmalure valley with spectacular views and scenery including the Carrawaystach Brookes Waterfall, which is across the glen.
When you reach the top of Lugnaquillia, which is 3035 ft high making it the highest mountain in Co. Wicklow; there will be a break for lunch and time to take in the views and scenery around you.
On your descent, we will stop in the Glenmalure Lodge for dinner and drinks.
Day 3
Meet our guide at 11am after check out in the Courtyard to bring you around Glendalough’s twin lakes; the old lead mines and Glenmacnass Waterfall.
After lunch in the local hotel, there is a short stroll through Glendalough’s historic site, of which contains much archaeological and rich spiritual history. Tour of 6th Century Monastic settlement, St. Kevin’s church and ancestral burial grounds of the Byrnes of ‘Croneybyrne’.
Throughout the walk you will see a stone caher, a number of early monastic churches, the round tower and a medieval cathedral.
From here the mini bus will drive you back to Dublin City Centre.
This is our best view on the local sites and walks but if you have other preferences please let us know and we will do our best to facilitate you.
